So many to thank

To the Editor:

To the wonderful, caring people of Martha’s Vineyard, we would like to say thank you to all who came out on a cold, rainy night to attend the benefit dinner for my husband, Kenny Ponte, who is in need of a kidney transplant (Dec. 22, 2010, “The Pontes reach out for a kidney“).

We are so thankful to all who donated money and to those who came and enjoyed a wonderful dinner donated by Linda Jean’s Restaurant. A big thank you to them and to Annie Beniot and Barbara Humber for being the helping hands in the kitchen. We are so grateful and thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts.

But a huge thank-you needs to go out to the great, wonderful caring men on the OB Rescue Truck. Without them this whole dinner would not have been possible; we love you guys.

Paul Humber, you are the best, thank you for all the hard work you did. We cannot thank everyone enough. We feel so lucky to live in such a great, caring community. Our daughter was overcome with tears when she saw all the people coming out to support her daddy, and that is exactly how I felt, crying for joy.

If I forgot anyone, please don’t take it to heart. I just have so many people that some can get lost in my head, but please know that we appreciate everyone and love to all.
