The Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank Charitable Fund, a donor-advised fund with the Permanent Endowment for Martha’s Vineyard, has awarded seven grants totaling $13,800 in support of local nonprofits.
Grants went to the Island Food Pantry, the Oak Bluffs Council on Aging, the Adult and Community Education Program of Martha’s Vineyard, the Aquinnah Cultural Center, the Martha’s Vineyard Film Society, the Martha’s Vineyard Museum, and The Yard.
“All are certainly worthy nonprofit organizations working to better the quality of life on the Island and we are pleased to be supporting their efforts on behalf of this community,” said Chris Wells, Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank’s President.
Since 2006, the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank Charitable Fund has been a donor-advised fund with the Permanent Endowment Fund, the Island’s community foundation. The Charitable Fund is the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank’s primary source for providing philanthropic support for nonprofit and community service organizations operating throughout the local area.
Requests for support are reviewed quarterly, according to a press release. More information is available online at mvbank.com or through the Permanent Endowment at firstname.lastname@example.org.
