The 8th biennial Woods Hole Historical Museum Model Boat Show fundraiser is April 16-17. Vineyard sailors and spectators are welcome, and they’ve played a big part in the event, including the model racing, over the years. Exhibits of more than 150 model boats represent many clubs and enthusiasts.
Radio-controlled model boat races in Eel Pond, a special tugboat exhibit, kids’ model-making, and presentations by a researcher from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute’s Deep Submergence Lab, and the Compass Project GPS Tracked Mini-Sailboat Oceangoing Race: all are on the agenda for the weekend. Tickets are $12, $5 for children over six, and $25 for families.
