Whether you exercise regularly or want to help out a good cause, following is a list of events this spring and summer:
Bike MS: Ride the Vineyard: Saturday, April 30, 9 am (60-mile); 10 am (30-mile); 11:30 am (15-mile), Martha's Vineyard Regional High School, Oak Bluffs. Benefits National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater New England Chapter. Pre-register: $35+ minimum of $250 in fundraising. nationalmssociety.org.
18th annual Oak Bluffs Memorial Day 5K Road Race and Fun Run: Sunday, May 29, 10:30 am: Fun Run; 11 am: 5K. Benefits Hospice of M.V. Pre-register Saturday, May 28, 3 to 6 pm at the Wesley House in Oak Bluffs ($15) or day of race ($20). Race starts at Ocean Park and ends at the Wesley House. American Cancer Society's Relay for Life Fun Run and Walk: Saturday, June 4, 9 am. Benefits American Cancer Society. Pre-register by visiting relayforlife.org/marthasvineyardma or day of race ($15). Race starts and ends at Martha's Vineyard Regional High School in Oak Bluffs. Visit above website for more information.
Chilmark 5K Road Race: Saturday, Aug. 13, 10:30 am. Benefits Town Affairs Council for Chilmark Community Center. Pre-register; entries are limited to 1,500 runners. Race starts 3.1 miles east of the Chilmark Town Hall on Middle Road and ends at Beetlebung Corner next to the Town Hall. Visit chilmarkroadrace.org.
Sullivan 5K Run/Walk: Saturday, Aug. 27, Washington Park, Oak Bluffs (opposite Our Market). 8:45 am: Kids Fun Run; 9 am: 5K. 23rd annual race benefits Martha's Vineyard Hospital. mvhospital.com.
Vineyard Warrior Triathlon: Sunday, Sept. 11, 8 am. Olympic distance: 1 mile open-water swim, 24-mile bike, 6.2 mile run through Oak Bluffs, Tisbury, West Tisbury, Edgartown. Race begins at Oak Bluffs Town Beach.
