Martha's Vineyard Curves launches annual food drive
Curves of Martha's Vineyard is offering incentives to members and the community to donate food and cash to benefit the Island Food Pantry as part of the fitness franchise's 13th annual food drive.
Since March 14th, Curves, located in Vineyard Haven, has been collecting non-perishable food and cash donations to benefit the Island Food Pantry. Current members who make a $30 donation or 30-pound donation of food are eligible to receive a Curves reusable Food Drive grocery bag. From April 4 to 16, Curves will waive the membership fee for new members who donate a bag of non-perishable food or make a minimum donation of $30.
"Our goal is to top the 700 pounds of food that we donated last year," Curves owner Bethany Seidman, said. "This is a great opportunity for the members of our Curves community to help strengthen the Island community, too. Everything that our members donate at our club will benefit local families in need."
Curves clubs have donated more than 61 million pounds of food in the U.S. and Canada since 2004, according to a press release.
