Maggie Riseborough put the shot 20 feet more than the next putter.

Coach Joe Schroeder’s Martha’s Vineyard track teams ran off with one-sided victories Saturday, when Cohasset came to visit the high school oval. The Islanders dominated the Lady Skippers, 117-18. The Vineyard boys won, 120-16.

The Martha’s Vineyard girls swept the shot put, discus, javelin, long jump, and triple jump. Christine Janek was unopposed in the high jump. Maggie Riseborough put the shot 37’1″. Second and third were Kaija Nivala and Sidra Dumont.

Sidra Dumont flung the discus farthest, 84’4″, followed by Riseborough and Nivala. Jesse Chandler threw the javelin best, 69’10″. Second and third were Lilly Neville and Megan McHugh.

Christine Janek was unopposed in the high jump.

Maddy Penicaude led a sweep of the long jump with a 14’5.5″ leap. Maya Harcourt and Maggie Lindland took second and third.

Maddy also won the triple ump, 30’11.75″ followed by Mia Benedetto and Maya Harcourt.

Freshman Lilly Neville ran the mile in 6:03, 17 seconds faster than the Cohasset entry. Lucy Norris, another Frosh, was third.

Maddy Penicaude (73.4) and Kaija Nivala were 1–2 over the 400m low hurdles.

Christine Janek led Lindland and Cohasset in the 100m dash.At 2:44, Megan McHugh led at 800m. Eva Balboni took third.

Cohasset girls won both the 400m at 68.1 and the 110 high hurdles at 18.1. Freshmen Mariah and Jessica Campbell finished in all but a dead heat at 74.5 and 74.7 to take second and third in the 400. Maya Harcourt and Kaija Nivala took the high hurdles silver and bronze.

Shivonne Schofield led a Vineyard sweep in the two mile run in 13:11. Willoe Maynard was second and Lucy Norris, third.

The relay team of McHugh, Balboni, Harcourt, and Neville won the 4×400 in 5 minutes flat. M. Campbell, Janek, Benedetto, and Lindland won the 4×100 in 56.8.

Vineyard boys sweep the field

The Vineyard boys won all of the six field events as well as the ten races, including both the 4×100 (Maynard, Lawrence, Piland, Jette) and 4×400 (Schroeder, Nevin, Osborne, Alley-Tarter) relays.

Best with both the shot (39’6.5″) and discus (98’9″) was Tyler Araujo. Second and third honors went to Cohasset in the shot, Rafael Maciel and Clifton Robinson were 2-3 with the discus.

Jette cleared 6′ to win the high jump followed by Anthony Piland and Jacob Lawrence. At 20’11.5″, Jette led Sam Oslyn and Marc Pilan in a long jump sweep,

Rafael Maciel won the triple jump at 38’8″ followed by two Skippers.

Mike Schroeder (5:03) and Willie Nevil were 1–3 at the mile. Rafael Maciel led an Island sweep of the 400m hurdles with Oslyn and Mayhew at 62.4.

Jette led two Skippers in the 100m dash.

Michael Osborn led the Martha’s Vineyard parade to the 800m tape in 2:11 followed by Jeremy Alley-Tarter and Sam Oslyn.

Marc Trapp and Marc Piland took gold and silver in the 400m, Maciel took his third blue ribbon over the high hurdles in 19.4, pursued by Diego De Freitas and Jamari Thomas.

At 25.3, Jacob Lawrence led all at 200m. Isaiah Maynard was second. Kyle Joba Woodruff won the two mile run in 11:33. Thorpe Karabees was second.
