Postcard contest

The Martha’s Vineyard Community Services Thrift Shop in Vineyard Haven is celebrating Martha’s Vineyard Community Service’s (MVCS) 50th anniversary with a project involving Island artists. Artists are encouraged to submit entries for the Postcard Project with artwork that visually expresses what the Thrift Shop means to the Island. Entries must have the number “50” and the initials “MVCS” illustrated or written in the submission.

The Thrift Shop Ladies will choose five submissions, which will be printed as limited edition postcards, 5″ by 7″, and those five winners will receive a $100 gift certificate to the store. The deadline for art is May 15, and submissions (high quality jpg.) must be sent to, include a short artist statement about the piece, and contact information.

The original pieces will be displayed at MVCS Fest on June 25, an outdoor family event.
