The Community Solar Greenhouse (COMSOG) sponsored their first 2011 workshop late last month, called Living Raw on Martha’s Vineyard.
Cindy Fitzgerald demonstrated how to prepare, without cooking, a breakfast, lunch, and dinner from recipes using fresh organic fruits and vegetables, nuts, seeds and wholesome oils (no sugar, flour, dairy, eggs, meat, fish).
The breakfast consisted of a fresh strawberry almond milk shake, and pecan porridge with fresh almond milk.
Lunch was mock salmon paté and stuffed Portabella mushroom caps.
Fettucine Alfredo (remember, no flour!) with mock Parmesan cheese (no dairy) was the entrée for dinner, followed by chocolate mousse.
Ms. Fitzgerald will lead another Introductory Raw Foods Workshop on May 15, when six different recipes will be presented. COMSOG is on New York Avenue in Oak Bluffs. The cost is $15.
