Anne M. Nason

Anne Margaret Nason died peacefully at age 93 on April 16, 2011. She was the devoted wife of the late John H. Nason, loving mother of John, Stephen, and Michelle, cherished grandmother of Andy, Lee, Caitlin, Ryan, and Shawn, and great-grandmother of Caitlin, Declan, Kailee, and Isla.

Always a stylish New Yorker, Anne adored the city. She was a wartime wife while John was a Pacific submariner, and she was a loving and devoted mother of three. Though she lived in many places, most cherished was her beautiful home on Sengekontacket Pond on Martha’s Vineyard. She loved reading, flowers, birds, and family.

She would summarize her life in the words of one of her favorite poets, Edna St. Vincent Millay: “My candle burns at both ends; It will not last the night; But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends — It gives a lovely light.” Her wisdom, love, and light will be in our hearts forever.
