Easter is this weekend, and you know what that means: the giant Easter egg hunt at the Duck Inn, which starts this Sunday at 1 pm. Please bring a nourishing dish for the impromptu potluck lunch that always happens, and a donation for the Food Pantry. Come and search for eggs and prizes and see who will find the silver and gold eggs. If you need more information, you can call Elise at 508-645-9018.
On Tuesday, April 26, head to Sharky’s in either Oak Bluffs or Edgartown in the evening for “Dine to Donate,” when 15 percent of the food sales will go to the MV Center for Living.
Remember, elections are coming up next month on May 11, when polls are open from 12 noon to 7 pm.
If you need an absentee ballot, you have a few options: you can go to Town Hall and vote right now and give your sealed vote to Carolyn or Adam.
You can also request one by mail, Aquinnah Town Clerk, 65 State Rd., Aquinnah, MA 02535 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org. You can only request a ballot for yourself, not anyone else. In your written request, it must include your name and the address where you are registered to vote, and the address you want the ballot mailed to. And your request must be signed. I think that’s everything. If you have questions, call Carolyn at the Town Hall, 508-645-2304.
A belated happy birthday to two Aquinnah boys, this item missed the deadline last week: Riley Ignacio-Cameron turned nine last Wednesday and little Erick Angelo turned one. I know these boys celebrated in style.
Todd Vanderhoop broke his leg very badly last week; please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He is home now and recovering.
Curtis Langer is home recovering from a hip replacement that he received last week at Mass. General Hospital. And Peter Temple is recovering from shoulder surgery.
Ella Mahoney and other French class students are spending vacation week in where else? France. They will be in Paris and the South of France. Ella’s mother, Juli said she will start pizza days up again soon, possibly this weekend if the weather is good enough. It will be Saturday from 2 to 5 pm at the Orange Peel Bakery on State Road.
