Second row, from left, are Pine Street Inn volunteer coordinator Cossie Fields, students August Welles, Leila Gardner, Lucy Hackney, and Anne Ollen, teacher Marsha Curtis, and students Sydney Johnson and Jessica Sonia.

Middle school students from the West Tisbury School Student Council collected and delivered 15 boxes of toiletries, food, socks, and other sundries to the Pine Street Inn, a homeless shelter in Boston, on April 8. They also donated a check for $1,000 that they raised through school events, and an additional $375 that the eighth grade class contributed.

West Tisbury School has participated in a project to help Pine Street Inn for 10 years, led by teacher Marsha Curtis. She and special education assistant Suzanne Hammond accompanied the student council group to Boston. They were treated to lunch in the inn's dining room as a thank-you for West Tisbury's decade of support.
