The Vineyard Football Club of the Over The Hill Soccer League played the Foxboro Warthogs to a tightly contested 2-2 tie on Easter Sunday, at Foxboro.
Skip Dostal scored the Islanders' first goal in the first half with a well-timed run and header off a set play.
In the second half, former MVRHS soccer coach Bob Hammond placed a well-crafted shot into the upper corner of the Warthog cage.
It was the VFC Masters second game of the season. On April 10 they defeated Mansfield, 4-2, on goals by Dostal, Nacho Vignolo, Riccardo Andrade, and Rudy Fernandez.
The VFC is now one point out of first place with a game in hand. Their next contest is this Sunday at West Roxbury.
