The MVRHS softball team threatened to wear out the basepaths Tuesday. They scored 16 times in a mercifully shortened game with Falmouth, played on the Vineyard.

Pitcher Hailee McCarthy held the Clippers to four hits, fanned seven batters, and drove in two runs with two hits.

Crystal Miske hit safely three times and drove in three runs.

One of Alicia Oliveira’s three hits was a triple.

Kelsey Debettencourt was 2 for 4 with an rbi.

It was the Islanders’ third win of the season. They have lost once. Falmouth’s record is 1-8.
