Alicia Oliveira's two-run blast over the left field fence with two outs in the bottom of the final inning, gave the Vineyard an 8-7 win in the second game of a double header vs, Manchester Essex, Saturday.

The visitors won the first game, despite a solid pitching effort by Hailee McCarthy, who fanned four and walked just one. Both Michell Lynn and Sara Wilson hit safely twice.

The girls softball team traveled to Somerset Tuesday only to be shut out by the Blue Raiders, 8-0. Emma Forbes played a stand out game at second base for the Islanders and lined one of the few Vineyard hits.

The Vineyard is 0-4 in the EAC and 4-5 overall.
