U-13s scare Barnstable

The youth lacrosse Under-13 team lost its game at Barnstable, last weekend, 7-5, but not before they threw a scare into the Red Raiders with an impressive comeback in the fourth quarter.

Vineyard scoring was by Jack Garrett assisted by Jacob Gunderson, Gunderson, Garrett assisted by Henry Wallace, Thomas Weston and Gunderson again.

JJ Mendez tended the net, his first attempt, and earned his coach’s plaudits.

The Girls’ Youth Lacrosse Under-15 and Under-13 teams both defeated Bourne, a week ago Sunday, 8-6.

Aubrey Ashmun led the U-15s with four goals. Audrey McCarron and Lee Hayman both scored twice. Lee Hayman and Erin Hill also scored. Goalie Sam Hargy made 13 saves.

The U-13 girls won their game at Bourne by the same 8-6 edge. Lacy Dinning scored thrice. Anna Keenan scored twice. Also beating the Bourne goalie were Addy Hayman, Audrey McCarren, and Erin Hill. Kylie Hatt made 15 saves in the Vineyard goal.
