Welcome back, Mike
To the Editor:
Welcome back to West Tisbury School, Michael Halt.
As I caught up on reading the MV Times on the boat returning to the Vineyard, I smiled broadly as I saw my good friend and fellow educator, Mike Halt, on the front page, being warmly greeted by the students and faculty of West Tisbury.
I chuckled as I looked at that picture because it reminded me that many years ago, as social studies chairman at MVRHS, I recommended Mike to be hired as a teacher in our social studies department. Little did I know that appointment would begin Mike's leadership journey in our Island school system. Boy, am I ever proud of my decision.
Mike, it is so good to have you back at West Tisbury. My best to you and welcome home.
