The Martha’s Vineyard sailing team hosted Harwich on Saturday, May 14. Light winds shifted south and grew stronger. In the best-of-five series of races, Harwich jumped off to an early 2-1 lead. But the Vineyard rallied and won the meet, 3-2.

MV skippers were Ben Nivala, Jesse Thomas and James Ulyatt. Crewing were Tyler Shapiro, Jake Sudarsky, Cole Bilodeau, and Katie Johnson.

Jesse and Jake were especially successful and led the Islanders

The junior varsity hit the water immediately following the varsity races and finished in a 1-1 tie as time ran out.

On Monday, May 16, the Islanders traveled to Falmouth for a meet. It was decided to compete in a best-of-three format.

Falmouth won the first two races and that was it. Skippers Cole Bilodeau and Katie Johnson with crews Ben Nivala, Jake Sudarsky, and Riley Donegan sailed. The JV meet ended in a 1-1 tie as time, again, expired.
