Vineyard Verses : Poetry in Motion
From out of the sun and out of the west,
this Oak Bluffs osprey descends toward its nest.
He returned from the south about two weeks late;
he's now patiently seeking a mate.
When not perched on the nest or fishing nearby,
he flies intricate patterns high in the sky.
He shows style as an avian heāmale,
hoping it will attract a female.
It's an amazing display by one,
defining his prominent place in the sun.
It's more than just an idle notion;
this landing is poetry in motion.
