Vineyard Vines will open second Martha's Vineyard store

May 18, 2011

Brothers Shep and Ian Murray of Edgartown, CEOs and co-founders of vineyard vines®, announced the opening of their newest retail store at 56 Narragansett Avenue in Oak Bluffs. This marks the second free-standing retail store on Martha's Vineyard.

"We're excited to open our doors in Oak Bluffs. Our new location will have complete offerings for men, women and children along with some exclusive Vineyard and Oak Bluffs-specific apparel," Ian Murray said.

The store's focal point will be a 300-pound shark which will hang from the ceiling, a nod to the 1975 film "Jaws," according to a press release.

Founded in 1998, the company is best known for its whimsical neckties and smiling pink whale logo. The company offers a variety of clothing and accessories for men, women, and children and has 13 stores in a variety of resort locations that include Nantucket and The Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo.
