Girls Youth Lacrosse split with Hanover
There were two Girls Youth lacrosse games on Sunday. Both the U-15 girls and the U-13s hosted Hanover.
The U-15s won in a walk, 15-1, Both Aubrey Ashmun and Lee Hayman had hat tricks. Lucy Hackney scored twice, as did Leila Gardner. Also beating the Indians' goalie were Shannon Morris, Belle Dinning, Kendra Mills, Megan Hurley, and Meg Burke. Sam Hargy was the effective goal tender.
The U-13 girls game, tightly contested, was won by Hanover, 5-4. Rookie Suzanne More-Stratton scored twice for the Vineyard. Audrey McCarron and Lacey Dinning also found the back of the net. Kylie Hatt and Kate Sudarsky split the goaltending duties and blocked ten shots.
The girls' final league games are June 5, here, with Weymouth.
Boys lacrosse clippered
The MV Youth Lacrosse Under-13 boys team lost to Falmouth White, 10-3, Sunday. The Islanders missed several players who were attending the NCAA quarterfinals at Gillette Stadium.
Scoring for the Vineyard were Thomas Weston (2) and Greg McCarron, assisted by Chris Patnaude.
