New Edgartown Meat and Fish Market opens

Edgartown Meat and Fish Market celebrated its grand opening last weekend and offered first-time customers an array of grilled samples of house specialties, such as steak tips and cilantro lime chicken.

The new market is located at 240 Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road in Edgartown's Post Office Square, at the former site of Hollywood Video.

The market sells prime steaks, meats, seafood, produce, grocery and deli items, as well as beer and wine. A café on the premises serves fresh-baked bagels and coffee starting at 6 am, with baked goods and sandwiches available until 4 pm. Both close at 8 pm.

Chef Carrie Whitney creates a variety of prepared foods, from salads to lasagna, as well as baked goods, and two sushi chefs are available to make orders to go.
