Gas prices fall in Massachusetts for third straight week
While still $1.13 per gallon higher than a year ago, gas prices in Massachusetts are down for the third straight week, according to the State House News Service.
AAA Southern New England released its weekly survey results Tuesday and found prices fell another 5 cents a gallon and are down 11 cents per gallon over the three-week period. The average per-gallon price for unleaded gas in the organization's May 31 survey was $3.83, about five cents higher than the national average. Survey takers found prices ranged from $3.61 up to $4.05.
On Tuesday on Martha's Vineyard the price for a gallon of regular gas hovered around the $4.50 mark.
