Martha's Vineyard runners beat Oliver Ames in Friday meet

Randall Jette finishes ahead of sprinters from Rockland, Dover-Sherborne, and Amesbury.
Led by senior Randall Jette, who won the 100m dash, the MVRHS Track and Field team made its presence known at the Division 4 meet in North Reading, Friday.
Other Islanders earning points were the 4x100 boys relay team of Brian Montambault, Jacob Lawrence, Anthony Piland and Jette, which finished second. Maggie Riseborough was third in the shot put. Rafael Maciel was fourth over the 400m hurdles. Anthony Piland took fifth in the javelin throw with a personal best of 148'10".
Madeline Penicaud's 32'4" triple-jump was eighth best in the event.
The 4x800 relay team of Michael Schroeder, Jeremy Alley-Tarter, Mike Osborn, and Kyle Joba was seventh at 8:42.
