Little feet, “Little Mermaid”

The Martha’s Vineyard School of Ballet, with a few members from the Atlantic Coast Ballet, are performing “The Little Mermaid” this Sunday, June 5, at the Performing Arts Center at the Martha’s Vineyard Regional High School. Under the artistic direction of Beth Vages and choreographed by Tanya Vincent, the show includes Vineyard children Sarah Pertile, Megan Mendez, Grace Hall, Ava Thors, Elizabeth O’Brien, Kya Maloney, and approximately 30 other children.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the door. The show starts at 3 pm.

Charter reunion

All alumni of the Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School are invited to a reunion this Friday, June 3, held at the school. The fun starts at 6 pm.

Night of Adventures

Garden Gate Child Development Center is having a benefit party tonight, June 2, from 6 to 9 pm at The Wharf in Edgartown. Live auction items include a private cocktail party with Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish, golfing on the Vineyard and the Cape, twilight sailing trips, and an Oak Bluffs pub crawl package complete with a taxi ride. Awarded

Susan Klein and Alan Brigish have won another award for their book “Martha’s Vineyard — Now & Zen.” It won the bronze medal at the 2011 Indie Excellence Awards in the category of Northeast Regional Publications on Sunday, May 15.

According to a press release, “This award celebrates the highest achievements in independent press and self-publishing, a sector of the industry that has grown exponentially in recent years.”
