Still kicking

To the Editor:

In the words of Mark Twain, "reports of my demise are greatly exaggerated." To all my friends and acquaintances on Martha's Vineyard, where I have lived for most of my life (43 years), a hearty and fond hello.

Alive and well, I live at The Cedars, 628 Old Westport Road, Apt. 263, Dartmouth, MA 02747, a scant distance from UMass.

Balding, 20 lbs. overweight, but walking about without a cane, my only ambition is to be a skinny, warm-hearted old man. On March 2, 2011, I reached my landmark 75th birthday.

I still feel a bit like an ex-patriot, "The Man Without a Country." So if anyone would care to write to me, I would love to hear from you and promise to answer.
