The Vineyard's two junior Babe Ruth softball squads hosted the Falmouth Clippers in a double header Sunday afternoon, at Martha's Vineyard Regional High School.

The Jays, coached by Gail Herman, took the field first. The teams battled back and forth, as they had last week during the Jays win in Falmouth. This time, however, the Clippers came away 12-11 winners.

The second game of the afternoon featured birds of a different feather, as Beth Sawyer's unbeaten Orioles soared to a ninth straight win with a 14-12 victory. Amanda Pachico was the winning pitcher for the O's.
