They returned in March to last year’s abode…
the nest pole located on Oyster Pond Road.
The info for which this photo begs:
he stands guard, while she’s sitting on eggs.
He hears my camera snapping nearby,
and focuses on me his evil eye.
And I know if I continue to gawk,
both birds will begin to loudly squawk.
So I pack my gear and accede to his wishes
by withdrawing through the heavy bushes.
I promise myself to do my best
to stay away until little ones are in the nest.
