Kenneth J. Sullivan Jr., 57, of Oak Bluffs, died on June 15, 2011 in Mass. General Hospital in Boston. He was the husband of Clarion (Benner) Sullivan. They were married for 20 years. He was the son of the late Kenneth J. “Jim” Sullivan Sr.
He was born in Boston and lived in Wareham for many years before moving to Oak Bluffs in 1981.He graduated from Wareham High School, Class of 1971, and from the Florida Institute of Motorcycle Mechanics.
Mr. Sullivan worked as a Postal Clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 28 years. He retired in 2011.He enjoyed fishing, reading, gardening, and all sports.
Survivors include his widow; his mother, Gertrude (Manning) Sullivan of Wareham; two sons, Kenneth “Joey” Sullivan III of Wareham and Patrick C. Sullivan of Onset; six stepsons, Jason of Fort Hood, Tex., Lewis of Nobleboro, Maine, Virgil of Oak Bluffs, Douglas of Rockland, Maine, Frank of Boca Raton, Fla., and Michael of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; two sisters, Francie Grady and her husband, Joe, of Tolland, Conn., and Faith Leszczynsky and her husband, Russ, of Glenville, N.Y., 16 step-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces and his beloved pets, Ruby, Tonka, and Princess.
Memorial visiting hours will be held on Friday, June 24, from 4 to 6 pm in the Chapman, Cole and Gleason Funeral Home, Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road, Oak Bluffs.
