Women at the plate

A game between the Creamers and the Shady Ladies, last year’s playoff finalists, the same teams that opened this year’s Women’s Summer Softball League season with a fourteen inning game, won finally 4-3 by the Ladies, were in action again at Veterans Park, Tisbury, Tuesday evening, but not with each other. The Creamers played the Honeys and took it on the chin, 12-6. Kelly Sylvia drove in seven of the Honeys runs with two homers.

The Shady Ladies faced off with the Snaps and lost, 6-4.

The evening’s third game pitted the Late Fees against the Rug Sox, a repeat of their season opening pairing, won again by the Late Fees, this time 12-3. Fees pitcher Laura Kimball had a shutout until the final inning when Sam Cleland stroked a four bagger with two aboard for the Sox.

Tonight’s games are Creamers vs. Shady Ladies on the “small field” at Veterans Park and Rug Sox vs. Snaps at the West Tisbury school. Both games begin at 6:15 pm.
