This reporter has been chronicling the often impressive athletic exploits of Kelly Silvia for more than a decade, ever since she was the only girl in the MV Little League to today when she holds down the shortstop position for the Honeys and recently drove in seven runs with two circuit blasts to power the sweet ones over the Creamers..

For most of that time, I have often misspelled her last name, “Sylvia.” Mea culpa.

I claim whatever comfort is afforded by the Bard’s observation, “that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet.” But her name is Silvia,

Tuesday, at Veterans Park, Summer Clements hit back to back home runs, driving in a bundle of runs to lead the Snaps over the Shady Ladies, 14-6. Kursten Meehan also hit a four-bagger, driving in three.

In other action, the Creamers came from behind to overtake the Rug Sox, and the Honeys had their way with the late Fees.
