Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank, through the Permanent Endowment for Martha’s Vineyard, awarded $9,500 in grants to six community groups and local nonprofit organizations in its summer grant cycle.
“Every day we work to better our community,” Chris Wells, President of the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank, said. “But through the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank Charitable Fund, we feel we can really make a difference, and we look forward to supporting more organizations serving community needs throughout the rest of this year.”
Grants went to the Aquinnah Cultural Center, Catalyst Concerts, the Martha’s Vineyard Cerebral Palsy Camp, the Martha’s Vineyard Museum, the Vineyard Arts Project, and the Woods Hole Film Festival.
Since 2006, the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank Charitable Fund has been a donor-advised fund with the Permanent Endowment Fund, the Island’s community foundation, according to a press release. The Charitable Fund is the Martha’s Vineyard Savings Bank’s primary source for providing philanthropic support for nonprofit and community service organizations operating on the Island and reviews requests for support quarterly.
