Thomas J. “Grizz” Adams of Honeoye Falls, N.Y., and Edgartown died on June 11. He was 69.
His nickname “Grizz” came by him honestly, but to many he was just a great big teddy bear. He was a lover of life and nature and did his best to enjoy both to the fullest. Tom split his time up by enjoying his farm in Mendon, the ocean in Martha’s Vineyard, and the woods in Springwater. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, his many friends throughout Mendon and Edgartown and especially his beloved golden retriever, Sienna.
He is survived by his dedicated love of 20 years, Michele Whitney, and her children, Whitney and Boise Rogers; his daughters, Debi (and husband Jim) Maloney, Amy (Bill) Myers; his son, Gordon (Jennifer) Jones; his sister, Molly (Chris) Parker; and his nephew, Christopher Parker. He also leaves behind his grandchildren — Alex, Griffin, and Olivia Jones and Tee, Neilly, and Will Myers — who each adored him in their own special way.
Tom was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Grosjean Adams.
A graveside service will be held at the New Westside Cemetery in Edgartown at 10 am on Saturday, July 30.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Animal Shelter of MV, Box 1829, Edgartown, MA 02539.
