Business Brief: Bill Brown appointed president of Martha’s Vineyard Insurance Agency

Martha’s Vineyard Insurance Agency, the largest insurance brokerage on the Island, has appointed William “Bill” Brown president of the agency.

As the new President, he will oversee and manage all of the departments at the Agency’s three island offices, while maintaining his personal service relationships with existing accounts, according to a press release. Mr. Brown holds the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor and is a licensed Advisor.

Bill Brown served as Vice President at the agency for over 15 years. He started his career at Martha’s Vineyard Insurance Agency in 1984 as a producer and later as a manager of the Edgartown office.

Mr. Brown formerly served as the president of The Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club, Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Martha’s Vineyard, and most recently the Rotary Club of Martha’s Vineyard. He also serves on the Tisbury personnel board.

Former Chief Operating Officer and President of Martha’s Vineyard Insurance Agency, Sandy Ray will remain with the agency as chairman of the board of directors.
