Oak Bluffs police make drug arrest

Oak Bluffs Police reported 11 arrests, seven people taken into protective custody and 114 incidents over the weekend.

Among the arrests was a Sunday morning drug bust. At approximately 10:30 am, Sunday, police arrested Nicholas Caputo 21, of Somerville, and Ryan Amaral 22, of Edgartown, at an Oak Bluffs movie theater where Mr. Amaral worked.

Police said Mr. Amaral was the subject of a drug investigation and was selling marijuana and Percocets. Lieutenant Tim Williamson said police in plain clothes observed Mr. Amaral sell a Percocet pill for $50 and made the arrest. Mr. Amaral also had a i-touch phone that he admitted he stole from a vehicle parked in Edgartown, Lieutenant Williamson said..

Police arrested Mr. Caputo for possession of a class B substance and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Police arrested Mr. Amaral for distribution of a class B drug, possession with intent to distribute class D drug, receiving stolen property and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
