SSA diverted Oak Bluffs ferries to Vineyard Haven terminal Monday

The Steamship Authority Monday rescheduled trips that were to arrive or depart from the Oak Bluffs terminal to the Vineyard Haven terminal instead.
In an email to The Times Monday, Wayne Lamson, SSA general manager, said Oak Bluffs service was on a trip-by-trip basis. "When the wind is out of the east, it can bring rollers in from the open ocean which cause problems with passenger and vehicle loading," Mr. Lamson said.
The change in terminals caused traffic issues at Five Corners and lengthy traffic backups. For the latest sailing information go to steamshipauthority.com.
