Martha's Vineyard residents and visitors anticipate the third week of August for the rich buffet of activities. Fun and tradition mix at every turn, beginning with Grand Illumination Night in Oak Bluffs.
On Wednesday, Aug. 17, the Campground gingerbread cottages were festooned with paper lanterns, and at a signal were simultaneously lit.
On Friday, the annual Oak Bluffs Fireman's Association Fireworks attracted large crowds to watch the colorful spectacle.
From Thursday to Sunday, the Agricultural Society held its 150th fair.
