Barney Frank rescheduled

Rep. Barney Frank, the outspoken 16-term Congressman from Massachusetts, was scheduled to be the July 21 speaker for the Martha’s Vineyard Summer Institute program at the M.V. Hebrew Center, but had to cancel his appearance because of an extension of the Congressional debate on the federal debt ceiling.

The Summer Institute was able to reschedule the talk and on Monday, Aug. 29, Congressman Frank will present a talk entitled, “Protecting National Security by Cutting our Military Spending.” A press release from the Summer Institute says, “Congressman Frank’s original program title is only more relevant now, given the tumult of the past two months in Washington.”

There is a suggested donation of $15 at the door, and the talk starts at 7:30 pm. For more information, visit mvsummerinstitute.com.
