SSA adds extra boats in anticipation of Hurricane Irene

With fare hikes on the horizon, Islanders can expect to pay more to ride the Island Home.

The Steamship Authority, anticipating the possible arrival of hurricane Irene, announced Wednesday that it has added additional trips on Thursday, August 25, between Woods Hole and Martha’s Vineyard.

“Based on the most recent forecasts, the Steamship Authority anticipates trip cancellations this upcoming weekend,” the boatline said in a press statement. “To make or modify a reservation please call 508-477-8600, online at www.steamshipauthority.com, or visit one of the terminals.”
