Vineyarders blank Bishop Stang

The MVRHS boys soccer teams shut out Bishop Stang here in Eastern Athletic Conference play, Tuesday.

The varsity margin of victory was 3-0.

John Oliveira scored the first goal from the penalty spot. Jack Roberts added the final two tallies, one off of a perfect cross from Oliveira and the other in the waning seconds from Martin Aranzabe.

The Vineyarders outplayed the Spartans in every phase of the game and were especially impressive at passing the ball and pressing the Stang offense.

The MV junior varsity scored nine times and held the Stang jayvees scoreless.

Islanders thwart Warriors

Oct. 6. the Vineyarders thumped another EAC foe, Coyle and Cassidy, 3-0. John Marcal had a goal and an assist. Jack Roberts and Joao Carlos Netto each scored once. Kip Cooperrider earned an assist. Goalie and team captain Rafa Maciel kept the Warriors at bay and earned the clean sheet.
