The Permanent Endowment for Martha’s Vineyard announced last week it has awarded $27,550 in grants to 12 Island organizations.
“For this grant cycle, we received applications from nonprofits working to better our lives on the Island in so many ways. It was wonderful to learn how organizations are collaborating on projects, expanding their programs and helping our friends and neighbors every day,” Anne Williamson, chairman of the Permanent Endowment, said. “We hope through these grants we not only financially support Island nonprofits but raise awareness of the very important role they play in our community.”
The grants recepients are: The African-American Heritage Trail of Martha’s Vineyard, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Martha’s Vineyard, Island Grown Initiative, Island Housing Trust Corporation, Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival, Martha’s Vineyard Museum, Martha’s Vineyard Shellfish Group, Sail Martha’s Vineyard, Vineyard Bellydance and Revue, Vineyard House, Windemere Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and The Yard.
The Permanent Endowment Fund provides grants to nonprofit organizations and funds scholarships for Vineyard students. For more information go to endowmv.org or call 508-338-4665.
