Larry's Tackle shop announces Octoberfish winners
Larry's Tackle Shop in Edgartown annually sponsors Octoberfish, a month-long fishing tournament for those unwilling to part with their rod and reel when the Bass and Bluefish Derby finishes. The fact is that many fishermen leave Island beaches before the fish do.
There were 75 entrants this year. The awards ceremony begins at 10 am, Saturday, at the shop on Upper Main Street. More than $2,200 in prize money will be handed out along with more than $2,500 in merchandise in a raffle, according to a press release.
Following is a list of top place 2011 Octoberfish winners: shore bass, Tony Rezendes (25.79); boat bass, Jeff Komarinetz (26.85); shore bluefish, Ron Domurat (12.55); boat bluefish, Ed Gentile III (12.80); shore albie, Kathi Pagoda (11.40); boat albie, Patrick Hesters (12.08); boat bonito, Pat Jenkinson (9.59).
