Tomorrow night, Nov. 4, Shindig on Upper Main Street in Edgartown is hosting an event from 5 to 9 pm that will showcase paintings, ceramics, and one-of-a-kind shirts by Golly. For those of you not in the know, Golly has been pictured in Vogue and fashionistas say her shirts are must-haves this season. Also available will be Martha’s Vineyard Agricultural Fair Blue Ribbon winning handbags by Christine. So clear your calendar for tomorrow night for this not-to-be-missed event.
Another great shopping event this weekend is on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Made Here on the Vineyard, located at 55 Circuit Avenue. From 11:30 am to 6 pm, Beth Serusa will be hosting the opening of her new store called Simply Soaps — A Vineyard Bath Company, which is within Made Here. Ms. Serusa shares, “I make all of my products by hand — soaps, lotions, linen sprays, sea salt scrubs, and shower gels. I was part of the Vineyard Artisans this summer with great success and want to offer my customers handmade, local gifts for the holidays.”
Services to make you smile
Now that Halloween is over, we can admit that some candy could have been eaten. With the sugar comes a reminder that it might be time to have those pearly whites checked by a local dentist to make sure no cavities have begun for you or a family member.
We have many great local dentists available to assist you in whatever your dental needs might be. If you don’t already have a favorite, here is a listing of our Island dentists. Vineyard Haven has by far the most to choose from, as exhibited by the following sampling of dental options: Dr. Garrett Orazem is located at 31 Beach Road, Dr. Robert Herman is at 95 State Road, Lagoon Dental with Dr. Sanford Nadelstein at 60 Lagoon Pond Road, Paradise Dental Group at 395 State Road, Dockside Dental at 79 Beach Road, and Amity Dental Studio with Dr. Richard McNulty is welcoming new patients at 65 Main Street. In other towns you will find Dr. John Hartley at 207 Upper Main Street in Edgartown, Edgartown Dental Associates with Dr. Brian S. Cullen, and Island Dentistry at 23 Airport Road.
If you are someone that suffers from pain or chronic discomfort, there are several great options on Island that might help you to feel better, to bring a smile back to your face. One such type of place would be a physical therapy office. In West Tisbury your choices range from Greenberg Physical & Hand Therapy office, 508- 696-9171, or the well rounded Vineyard Complementary Medicine (508-693-3800), which offers not only physical therapy sessions, but chiropractic services along with holistic health services that include acupuncture and massage therapy, just to name a few.
Whatever your needs, remember it is always important to take care of yourself first, so that you may be able to then care for others. So take the time to research, ask around for referrals, and then visit the professional(s) that can help you stay at the top of your game, all right here on the Island.
