Here's a spring-time scene of which I'm fond...
six new little ones out on the pond.
By their size, it's easy to tell
they're not too long out of the shell.
Parents guide them past life's tough hurdles...
like hunting hawks and snapping turtles.
Little ones also have the need
to know the best grass on which to feed.
And in the chill and dark of night,
they must be kept warm and out of sight.
Mom and Dad provide fine preparation
for this next Canada Goose generation.
