Driver cited in three-car accident on State Road
Tisbury police closed State Road Friday, November 18, following a three-vehicle accident at Mayflower Lane.
A Jeep Wrangler driven by Alexandra Reeder, 44, struck the rear of a delivery truck stopped on State Road, waiting to make a left turn on Mayflower Lane, according to a police report,
The Jeep rebounded into the opposite lane and collided with a Honda Pilot driven by Robert Murphy.
Police say the accident caused major damage to Ms. Reeder's vehicle, moderate damage to Mr. Murphy's vehicle, and minor damage to the delivery truck.
Police stopped traffic in both directions for about 30 minutes while the vehicles were removed.
Tisbury Ambulance took Ms. Reeder to the Martha's Vineyard Hospital emergency room for evaluation, according to the report.
Police cited Ms. Reeder for following too closely.
