To the Editor:

Thank you to everyone who came out to Wingfest 2011 at Sharky’s Cantina in Edgartown on Saturday, November 12. Together, we raised more than $8,000 to support the affordable youth programs at the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club.

Congratulations to the Edgartown Firemen’s Association for being voted “2011 Best Wings.” By winning their third consecutive Wingfest title, the Edgartown Firemen’s Association has been crowned as the first ever “Wingfest Dynasty.” As a result, they are not eligible to win next year. This means that in 2012, a new Wingfest champion will be crowned. Will it be you?

Thank you to all the competitors who participated in Wingfest 2011: Oak Bluffs EMS “2011 Best Booth”; Big Brothers Big Sisters of MV, “2011 Committee’s Choice for Pretty Tasty Wings”; Edgartown Patrolmen’s Association; Up-Island police; Tisbury School; Vineyard Vines; Vineyard football fans; Edgartown National Bank; and the Martha’s Vineyard Rod & Gun Club. We would also like to recognize and congratulate Diana Lozano for becoming the first ever female “Wing-Eating Contest Champion.”

A special thankyou to all our sponsors: MVY Radio, MVOL, Coors Light, Vineyard Vines, What’s Up Martha, Brewsees Sunglasses, and especially Sharky’s Cantina.

Since Wingfest’s inception three years ago, Sharky’s Cantina has helped raise more than $20,000 for the Martha’s Vineyard Boys & Girls Club. The event’s popularity continues to grow each year, and we want you to be a part of Wingfest 2012.

For more information about Wingfest and how you can enter as a contestant in 2012, please visit us online at www.wingfestmv.com and/or friend us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/wingfestmv. Thank you for your support.
