The Times is remodeling; work will be done Sunday
[More Photos]Working secretly and at great speed, Danielle Zerbonne and Diana Waring, whose day jobs are in The Martha's Vineyard Times advertising sales department, have designed and baked a remodeling plan for The Times' Beach Road, Vineyard Haven newspaper offices.
Employing six pounds of confectioners sugar, creating five batches of royal icing and four batches of gingerbread, plus decorative embellishments of great variety and visual interest, the two architects designed a refreshed Times office building that is faithful to every historic detail but upgraded in each and every respect.
They spent hours of their own time and did grave damage to Ms. Waring's kitchen. But, the result is an office that makes their grateful colleagues proud.
It's all edible, of course, and makes a sweet place to visit.
