NYE pop-up shop
A pop-up shop at the NYE Gallery on Uncas Avenue in Oak Bluffs will be open everyday for the next couple of weeks. Kim Nye, the building’s owner, is selling off a lot of her high end designer clothing and shoes, contemporary and antique furnishings in pristine condition, jewelry, art, and decorative elements, including a collection of hurricane lamps. The shop will be open everyday from approximately 10 am to 6 pm, through January 8.
Fair photos needed
The Martha’s Vineyard Museum is always looking for photos to add to their collection, and currently they want photos from past Agricultural Fairs to add to a Fair history book, being compiled with local authors Susan Klein and Alan Brigish.
Photo collection days will be held Friday, Jan. 6 from 12 noon to 1 pm and 4 to 6 pm, and Saturday, Jan. 7, from 12 noon to 3 pm. Photos will be scanned and returned to you immediately, so you need not part with them. Curators will also be taking information for captions and descriptions so bring any information you have.

Mangos for Flo
Island resident Flo Alexander recently participated in The Cambridge School of Weston’s (CSW) third annual Evening of the Arts on December 15. The event showcased the arts from across the school’s community, and featured a wearable art fashion show for which Flo created and wore “A Head and Belly Full of Mangos.” According to a press release, the dress was inspired by Flo’s love of dried mangos. She is currently a sophomore at CSW.
