Vineyarders hold off Nantucket for 8th straight Island Cup win

An interception with 30 seconds remaining on the clock quenched a spirited 4th quarter Nantucket rally and propelled the Vineyard to a 10-7 victory.

Now the leaves have started their twirling journey down from the trees towards the ground where the wind will move them around at its whim, leaving us here to rake them up and cart them away.

Tomorrow all young ones on the Island who are aged 12 and up are invited to a twilight prom at the Oak Bluffs Library from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.


The long-standing rivalry between Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket will be played out as the pigskin is thrown around this Saturday when the Vineyarders venture to harpoon the Whalers and achieve another Cup win at Ackerley Field.
