Baby Aliyah welcomes in the New Year

Marva Henry and Aliyah Breanna Bennett, the first baby of the New Year born at Martha's Vineyard Hospital.
Aliyah Breanna Bennett, the first baby born at Martha's Vineyard Hospital in 2012, arrived at 2:11 am on Wednesday, January 4. She weighed in at 6 pounds, 13 ounces, and she is 20 inches long.
Marva Henry and Donovan Bennett of Edgartown are the proud parents. Aliyah joins sisters Monique and Donamar and brother Andre. Dad works at the Stop and Shop in Vineyard Haven and mom is a housekeeper.
