An offer you can’t pass up

MV Youth Hockey has announced that the Instructional program at the Arena will be free of charge for the winter season, from early January through mid-March.

Children from four to nine years old are welcome. The 14 sessions are typically held Saturdays at 8:30 am and Wednesdays at 4 pm. They begin Saturday, January 7. The free sessions were originally advertised at $200.

Register in the Arena’s warm room Saturday, January 7 at 8:30 am.

To register, parents must also register their children with USA Hockey online at www.usahockey.com All children with a birth year 2005 and younger are free to register with USA Hockey. For older children the fee is $30.

Registration with MV Youth Hockey is also required. Forms may be downloaded at www.mvyh.org and picked up at the Arena to be brought to the first attended practice.

Thanks to community fundraising events and private donations, the program is funded for the winter of 2012 by Grow MVYH, a new initiative of MVYH whose mission is to enable more young Islanders to experience the exciting sport of ice hockey.

Ice hockey equipment is required for safe play. Recommended local options for equipment include new equipment for sale at the MV Arena pro shop and used equipment available for loan from MV Youth Hockey.
